Farewell <3
Hey everyone! Before anything else we want to thank all the legends for reading this update, along with everyone that played LUCE. And an additional BIG thank you to everyone that recorded or streamed our game together with all the websites that published reviews about it, we couldn't be more grateful, truly THANK YOU!
We had an amazing time hearing all your feedback, never in a million years did we expect to have this much people play our little scary game. This was meant to be a small university project, but because of all the positive feedback we decided to keep working a bit longer on it afterwards, fixing bugs and adding small details that overall enhanced the experience.
Here is a list of everything that was fixed/added:
Bug Fixes:
- Adjusted start menu options
- Fixed help duplicated at the last puzzle
- Black screen of the final polaroid was extended vertically
- All polaroid's are now saved by the checkpoint
- Arrow under the start box is now back
- Fixed camera cooldown indicator
- Hand polaroid trapdoor collider is now smaller
- Fixed bug that stopped the player from moving after dying
- Changed light on eye puzzle part 3
- Fixed box sprite overlap on bunker 1
- Overall sprite adjustments
Added Sounds:
- Creepy keyhole sound in first room
- "Roar" for the hand
- Calm music for collectable cutscene
- Shake sound for when the screen shakes
Extras:
- Eye Icon for the build
- Turned off fear at the end
- Moving shadows in foreground
- Added help to pick up all polaroid's
And now.. it's time for Goodbyes :(
This whole game was the work of the first semester of our masters. This will be our last update, we're now all working on different projects but we'll always keep LUCE close to our hearts.
My name is Rafael Matos, as project manager and the one writing the post I'd like to add a special thanks to the rest of my amazing team:
- Márcio Tavares, thank you for the extra hours of work on the project, for saving my spaghetti code and making LUCE possible!
- Mariana Cabral, thank you for the phenomenal art of our character and cutscenes, you really brought our ideas to life!
- Salvador Luís, thank you for the hours of work on the backgrounds and for all the sounds that brought the fear into the game!
One last time, THANK YOU ALL <3
(And as a gift, here's the first ever concept art for LUCE)
