C.H.I.L.D (Complete Human Integration for Lifelong Development) is a company aiming to rehabilitate individuals back into society. 

Participants undergo a program evaluating their ability to perform tasks the company deems representative of human behavior: Murder, Taxes, Lines, and Survival. Each task is seemingly simple to complete, but there's a catch. The first task requires the player to shoot a cardboard cut-out of a child , triggering a glitch that causes children in the game to revolt and pursue the player throughout the rest of the game.

 If the player completes the tasks and survives, they reach the system's service area where they can shut down the program.
